Press Release – Love Letters Valentine’s Fundraiser
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Rod Beattie & Diana Leblanc Star in Love Letters — A Valentine’s Weekend Fundraiser for Stratford’s Cultural Community
STRATFORD, ON — Celebrate Valentine’s Day Weekend with an intimate and moving theatre experience as two of Canada’s most beloved stage artists, Rod Beattie and Diana Leblanc, come together in Love Letters by A.R. Gurney. This special fundraising presentation takes place Saturday, February 14 and Sunday, February 15 at 2:00 pm at Here For Now Theatre, located inside The Registry Office at 24 St. Andrew Street, Stratford.
Presented by Here For Now Theatre in partnership with the Stratford Perth Museum, Love Letters is a licensed co-fundraiser supporting live performance, storytelling, and shared cultural heritage in Stratford and Perth County.
Through decades of heartfelt correspondence, Pulitzer Prize–nominated playwright A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters reveals the humour, heartbreak, and quiet longings that shape a lifetime. With nothing but their voices and the written word, Beattie and Leblanc bring extraordinary warmth, depth, and humanity to this tender story of love and enduring friendship.
“Whether you’re celebrating with a partner, a friend, or simply your love of great theatre, Love Letters is a beautiful way to mark Valentine’s Weekend,” says Kelly McIntosh, Managing Director of the Stratford Perth Museum. “We’re thrilled to partner with Here For Now Theatre on this special event and to welcome two such extraordinary artists.”
Fiona Mongillo, Artistic Director of Here For Now Theatre, adds: “This play is all about connection — between people, across time, and within a community. It feels like the perfect collaboration and the perfect moment to share it with Stratford audiences.”
