Wedding guidelines for 2020

Guidelines for weddings at the Stratford Perth Museum for 2020

During this time, only outdoor weddings are allowed at the museum. Every effort is being made to ensure that we provide a safe environment that agrees with guidelines set out by the province and the Perth District Health Unit.

Ceremony: 100 guests total. Outdoor ceremony can take place in our southeast green space or elsewhere on the property. Chairs to be spaced for social distancing. People will be advised to sit in family or friend bubbles.

Reception: 100 guests total. Tent set up on the property and much be large enough to allow for six feet of social distancing between tables. Each table would have 8 people and in-family or social bubbles are encouraged.

Catering: Caterer to serve guests with no buffet style. Appetizers/ hors d’oeuvres need to be served to guests as single portion items.

Bar: Bartenders and wait staff to table serve all drinks, with the exception of wine at dinner. The purpose of this is to prevent lineups at the bar.

Washrooms: In as much as the weddings are 100 people or fewer, the museum washrooms will be made available. Museum staff will sanitize the washrooms after each use or as much as feasible. Porta potties are discouraged.

DJ, live music, dance floor: Currently a DJ or a dance floor are not allowed in a public setting and therefore is not preferred.

Additional overriding principles

Use of masks where possible.

Embraces the principles of social distancing

Try and limit close contact to family and social bubbles

Ask that all guests self diagnose before the wedding. Similar to the messages you see at the doctors’ offices, stores etc. Ie., “in the past 14 days have you been outside the province, showed symptoms, had a fever, been in contact with someone who has COVID etc.”) If the answer to any of those questions is yes, ask that guest to not attend.

Emphasis on hygiene with hand washing and sanitizer stations.

The Stratford Perth Museum is a wonderful venue to hold your wedding or special life event. We have a number of beautiful outdoor spots that are the perfect setting for a ceremony as well as an intimate side yard bordered by trees to erect a tent for a reception or dinner. A large parking lot is adjacent to the Museum.
