100th Anniversary of Fire Engine No. 1

The Stratford Perth Museum is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Stratford Fire Department Engine No. 1/ 1923 American LaFrance arriving in Stratford. On Tuesday Oct. 3 from 11AM to 2PM and Saturday, Oct. 7th from 10AM to 4 PM we will be hosting an event called Fired Up that seeks to commemorate the Fire Engine’s arrival, but also honour our local heroes. Saturday, Oct. 7 from 10 am to 4 pm.

Price: Free (donations are always welcome and appreciated)

Location: Stratford Perth Museum

Activities: Family oriented including learning and listening to local stories of firefighters from our past via our updated Fire Engine exhibit and staff/volunteer presentations; Young @ Art projects where youth can create Fire related art to take home; and interactive opportunities with artifacts, like a photo on our Fire Engine No. 1!

In the spirit of Thanksgiving Weekend, we hope to acknowledge the profound commitment and heroism of firefighters in our community and show our gratitude to our nation’s emergency response personnel who have dedicated their lives to helping those affected by the devastating wildfires in Canada over the past year.
