“The Power of One” exhibit is a student centric, thought-provoking exhibit meant to inspire and empower students from kindergarten to grade 12 harness their voice and stand up, speak out, and take action to make the world a better place. Featuring twelve notable figures (like Martin Luther King Jr., Mahatma Gandhi, Anne Frank, Helen Keller, Mother Teresa, and Malala Yousafzai – among others), the exhibit begins by curating a discussion around the Upstander mindset by introducing audience members to those who have contributed to making the world a better, safer, and more inclusive place all citizens no matter their race or religion, gender, creed, or colour. As students visit the exhibit, the Power of One invites its audience to consider five key questions:

  • What would you do if you were in the same situation?
  • What choices would you make?
  • Would you risk your life to save others?
  • Would you speak out?
  • How can you help change the world for the better today?
