|
$35.00
Get out of your shell and learn the traditional artform of Pysanky – creating Ukrainian Easter eggs with beeswax and dye. A ritualized Slavic practice, the origins of Pysanky predate Christianity and has various origin folklore stories. The intricate floral and geometric designs are often linked to the welcoming of Spring and the yolk of the egg symbolizing the return of the long sun. New meaning for Pysanky has also arisen as a cultural rebirth and resiliency for Ukrainians in the midst of war.
