Ready for some nail-biting nalbinding?! If you are looking for a productive yet calming craft during the cold winter months, join us for this hands-on workshop led by Barb Hagarty at the Stratford Perth Museum. The intent of this workshop is to introduce participants to the practice of Nalbinding.  Widely acknowledged as an ancient weaving technique, nalbinding uses a series of small loops to create a sturdy, woven material. It is a fabric creation technique predating both knitting and crocheting. Fragments of this fabric have been discovered in ancient archaeological finds dating back thousands of years, however, it is most commonly associated with the Viking period (800 – 1050 CE).

Participants will complete a woolen head band during the workshop.  Each participant will receive a kit which includes a hand-crafted nalbinding needle and wool to complete this project. This workshop will be of interest to everyone who loves to work with their hands and has an interest in learning new techniques.

Supplies: All Included by Kairos Fiber Art– Nalbinding kit containing a hand-crafted nalbinding needle and wool to complete this project.
