The Stratford Perth Museum is proud to announce that Tradition Mutual Insurance Company of Sebringville has committed $50,000 as the Lead Naming Sponsor of the Museum’s new outdoor performance and community gathering space, the Tradition Mutual Blue-Sky Canopy.

The gift launches the Museum’s $120,000 Blue Sky Canopy Campaign, a capital project that will transform the Player’s Backstage into a flexible outdoor venue for concerts, family programming, educational activities, community celebrations, and cultural events for years to come.

Construction of the canopy is scheduled to begin this fall and will be completed by Avon Building Solutions following the conclusion of the Museum’s outdoor concert season.

“This is so much more than a weather shelter,” said Kelly McIntosh, Managing Director of the Stratford Perth Museum. “It’s an investment in community. The Tradition Mutual Blue-Sky Canopy will transform our outdoor space into a more welcoming and adaptable venue for concerts, educational programming, family events, celebrations and community gatherings. We’re incredibly grateful to Tradition Mutual for believing in this vision and helping us bring it to life.”

As Lead Naming Sponsor, Tradition Mutual’s support will be recognized through the naming of the structure as The Tradition Mutual Blue-Sky Canopy, along with permanent donor recognition and ongoing acknowledgement as the venue becomes a cornerstone of the Museum’s growing outdoor programming.

Charles MacLennan, President and CEO of Tradition Mutual Insurance Company, said the project reflects the company’s longstanding commitment to strengthening communities that it serves.

“As Tradition Mutual celebrates its 150th anniversary, we are honoured to support projects that reflect our longstanding commitment to the communities we serve. We believe thriving communities are built through connection, shared experiences, and strong local partnerships. The Stratford Perth Museum plays an important role in preserving our region’s heritage while creating opportunities for people to come together. We’re proud to support the Tradition Mutual Blue-Sky Canopy, a community gathering space that will foster learning, celebration, and connection for generations to come.”

HELP BUILD THE Tradition Mutual Blue Sky Canopy.

Help Complete Stratford’s Next Great Gathering Place

The Tradition Mutual Blue Sky Canopy is a permanent, architecturally designed outdoor canopy that will provide weather protection for audiences attending concerts, performances and community events at the Stratford Perth Museum’s Players Backstage.

Its translucent white canopy will provide shade from the summer sun and shelter from rain while preserving the open-air experience that has made Players Backstage one of Perth County’s most vibrant gathering places.

From concerts and theatre to school programs, family celebrations and community events, the Blue Sky Canopy will ensure more people can gather comfortably—under almost any sky.

Every gift helps create a place where neighbours gather, artists perform, children learn, visitors connect, and community happens.
