The Stratford Perth Museum could not even begin to operate without its many volunteers.
Volunteers are so critical to us that we have an active Volunteer Recruitment Program headed by our Volunteer Coordinator, Elizabeth Cooper. One small part of that program is hosting a event every December to recruit volunteers. This event serves to not only recognize and appreciate our volunteers but also to recruit community-minded people to tour the exhibits and to hear about the benefits and joys of volunteering at the Museum.
Realizing that several area organizations also rely heavily on volunteers, we decided to throw the net wide and invite other groups to the event. So, on December 4, 2019, the Stratford Perth Museum’s is hosting the first Stratford and Area Community Volunteer Recruitment Night.
Our partners include the Stratford General Hospital, Gallery Stratford, Friends of the Festival, Alzheimer’s Society of Perth County, United Way Perth Huron and Stratford Summer Music, as well as ourselves.
It’s on Wednesday, December 4, from 6:30 to 8 pm at the Stratford Perth Museum. “It is a chance to find out about is required of volunteers at these organizations, meet the recruitment officers and have a few refreshments, “ says Cooper. “Initial response has been so great we may be organizing a second such event in the spring.”
All ages are welcome!
