At the Stratford Perth Museum, our mandate is to collect, preserve, research, interpret, and share the stories of Stratford and Perth County through artefacts and archival records. With over 30,000 objects in our care, the Collection reflects the agricultural, industrial, artistic, and social history of this region—from pre-history to today.

Ours is one of Ontario’s earliest ongoing collections, with roots in the Perth County Historical Collection (1902–1980). Over time, it has grown through significant acquisitions, including the Minnie Thomson agricultural collection and the Stratford Armoury collection, now known as the Perth Regiment Collection.

Today, the Collection continues to evolve, shaped by the community it represents. From CN railway artefacts to quilts, clothing, furniture, military objects, and everyday items, each piece helps tell a larger story of life in this region.

We are pleased to begin sharing our Collection online.

With the launch of our digital database in 2026, we are in the early stages of making our holdings accessible to the public. While the Museum holds nearly 30,000 artefacts, only a portion is currently available online. New records are being added regularly.

You’ll find photographs, textiles, artefacts, and archival materials, with an early focus on special collections such as the Kroehler Collection, Signature Quilts, and the Perth Regiment, as well as items connected to the towns and townships of Perth County.
