Stratford Perth Museum AGM Notice

This is a notice and invitation to attend the Annual General Meeting of the incorporated Stratford Perth Museum Association, that will be held WEDNESDAY, February 20, 2019 at 7 p.m. at the Stratford Perth Museum, 4275 Huron Road West, Stratford.

The meeting agenda is below. Copies of the Auditor’s Report for 2018 will be available at the meeting. If you would like a copy but cannot attend the meeting, please contact the Museum.

We hope you will be able to attend the meeting to elect your Board of Directors for 2019; appoint auditors; vote on amendments to the constitution and conduct other business of the Corporation as may properly be brought forward.

Past practise has allowed for proxies but a recent review of our constitution indicates that there is actually no provision for proxies. We are informing the membership that proxies are no longer admissible.

Tours and Talks in 2019 (with an option for lunch …)

For 2019 the Stratford Perth Museum is offering our Tours and Talks package, along with an option for a box lunch from Sirkel Foods in Stratford.

Package One: Museum Tour + Historical Talk:
• 90 minutes
• Capacity: 45 people
• $15 per person (plus tax)

Includes a full guided tour of all the museum’s exhibits, plus choose one of three historical talks.

Historical Talk options:
Based on three of our most popular exhibits, each talk provides an in-depth perspective.

Justin Bieber: Steps to Stardom
Learn about Justin’s early life growing up in Stratford, and his meteoric rise to international fame and success. This talk tells the story of the Stratford native’s career from those early years - busking in Stratford and performing in local talent shows - to the largest venues and stages in the world.

Stratford Festival: Such Stuff As Dreams…
How did the Stratford Festival go from dream to reality? This talk discusses the plots, the plans, the people and the plays that transformed Stratford from a railway hub to the city that hosts North America’s largest classical repertory theatre company.

Historical Walk
Enjoy a guided walk through our trails system that features 15 story boards that tell the history of Stratford and Perth County. On this walk, which is under a kilometre in length, you will learn about the first inhabitants, the European settlers, industry, the role of rail, war time commitments and government representation - and the role each played. (Weather permitting - we have an inclement weather alternative indoors.)

Discover the world from the depths of the ocean to the heights of the mountains. We are exploring a different environment each day of camp. Featuring group challenges, games, experiments, crafts, indoor and outdoor activities, and more!

Bring warm clothes, indoor shoes, and a nut free lunch and snacks.

Pre-registration is required

Recommended for ages 5 to 10

$35 per child per day, or $160 for the week

Capacity is limited to 25 participants per day, so please register early!
