Hear the colourful history of Market Square July 9
Stratford’s new and massively improved Market Square made its debut on Canada Day 2017 but did you know …
An open river once ran right through Market Square …
It was once a site for a sawmill, slaughterhouse and of course a market …
The man who donated the land to the city insisted it had to be used as a market – forever!
The plan that just came to fruition was the fourth … or even fifth attempt at a makeover.
Find out this and much more next Sunday when our General Manager John Kastner presents the fascinating and colourful history of Stratford’s Market Square.
John’s history lesson is presented at 7:30 p.m. and is in conjunction with and will be followed by the first Movies Under the Stars event at 8:30 p.m. with the showing of Finding Neverland at dusk. (Visit queenofthesquare.ca for more info.)
Please bring your own chairs, blankets and dress warmly for the evening.
This event is made possible thanks to a grant from the Stratford Destination Animation Fund.
